Camping Near Cedar Point: Gotta Getaway RV Park Guest Guide
Plan your perfect stay at our family-friendly campground in Bellevue, Ohio.
Planning a trip to North Central Ohio usually starts with roller coasters, but it shouldn't end there. Gotta Getaway RV Park offers the perfect middle ground: a quiet, nature-focused campground just 25 minutes from Cedar Point and minutes from Ohio's best historical sites. Here is why families choose us as their base camp.
1. Proximity Without the Noise
We are a convenient 25-minute drive from the Cedar Point entrance, allowing you to escape the traffic and noise of Sandusky. While hotels near the park are loud and crowded, our location in Bellevue offers a peaceful campfire setting just a short drive from the action.
2. Adventures Beyond the Coasters
Our guests love exploring the "Hidden Gems" of Bellevue. We are just minutes away from the fascinating Seneca Caverns, and for history buffs, the Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum offers an incredible hands-on look at historic trains.
3. Relax in a Pool, Not a Lobby
After a long day of walking, you can unwind in our brand new resort-style heated swimming pool or by a private fire ring. Unlike a hotel elevator or lobby, our amenities are designed to help you reconnect with the outdoors.
4. Accommodations for Everyone
Whether you have a 45-foot luxury RV, a family tent, or need a vacation cottage, we have a site for you. Our "Cottage" rentals are a favorite for families who want the camping experience without owning an RV.
5. No Hidden Fees—Your Rate is Your Rate
We don't believe in nickel-and-diming our guests. Unlike most RV parks, we never charge extra per-person fees for your overnight campers, pets, tow vehicles, trailers, or BYO golf carts. We don't even charge credit card processing fees! You only pay extra for unregistered daytime visitors.
6. Seamless Online Booking
You can secure your spot instantly through our Online Reservation Portal. We make your arrival and departure easy. Check-in is at 2:00 PM for all guests. When it's time to head home, check-out is 11:00 AM for cottages and 12:00 PM for campsites.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the campground open?
We are currently in our 2026 season, which runs from May 1st to November 2nd, 2026. We are also officially accepting reservations for our 2027 season, which will run from April 30th to November 1st, 2027!
When is the pool open?
Our heated resort-style pool opens for the season on Memorial Day Weekend and closes just past Labor Day Weekend (mid-September soonest or later), once outdoor temperatures are consistently too cold to keep it heated.
During the operating season, the pool opens every day at 10:00 AM. Daily closing hours vary and are posted on our activities calendar page.
Are there extra fees for additional guests, pets, or parking?
No! We believe your rate should be your rate so you can truly relax without stressing over hidden charges. Unlike many RV parks that charge per extra person after 2 guests, or tack on daily pet and vehicle fees, our overnight rates are completely flat.
Your site's maximum capacity (up to 6 guests for standard sites, 10 for combos), your pets (up to 4), your vehicles (including tow vehicles, companion vehicles, and trailers), and your BYO golf carts are 100% included in your rate. We don't even charge credit card processing fees! The only time a fee applies is for unregistered daytime visitors or daily pool passes for non-campers.
Are pets allowed at the campground?
Yes, we are a pet-friendly RV park! Pets are welcome on all standard RV sites (up to 4 pets are included in your flat rate). However, for the safety and comfort of all guests, pets are strictly prohibited on Tent-Only sites, inside Cabins and Cottages, and inside any park buildings, shower houses, or the pool area.
Is there an RV age limit?
Our RV age limit of 10 years or newer is only applicable to guests staying with us for 1 month or longer. If you are booking a daily or weekly stay, this age limit does not apply to your reservation.
Do you have Full Hookup sites?
We do not have any full hookup sites (with direct sewer connections). However, we do provide a convenient on-site honey wagon service to empty your tanks right at your site on Mondays and Saturdays for a fee.
What utilities are available at the campsites?
All campsites feature fresh municipal water (we are frequently asked if we use well water—we do not!) and electric hookups. Most sites offer 30/50 AMP service (Sites 56-63 offer 20/30 AMP). While we do not have individual sewer hookups, we provide an easy access dump station and a Honey Wagon pump-out service (Mondays & Saturdays, fee applies).
Can I charge my Electric Vehicle (EV) at my campsite?
Yes! We offer a dedicated "1-Night EV Car Camping Site" where EV charging is explicitly included in your rate. For all other RV sites, plugging an EV into a campsite pedestal is strictly prohibited without prior office approval and payment of a $25 daily fee. We also have a dedicated EV charging spot available near the pool for $25 per day.

Do registered campers need a pool pass, and how much are they?
No! Registered campers do not need to purchase a pool pass. Full access to the heated pool and all park amenities is completely included in your stay.
Pool passes are only required for non-registered guests and daytime visitors just coming for a swim. For visitors, a Daily Pool Pass is $8.00 per person before 6:00 PM, and $4.00 per person after 6:00 PM. We also offer a Season Pool Pass for $40.00 per person. A Campground Visitor Pass is $8.00 per person before 6:00 PM and $4.00 per person after 6:00 PM. This grants them parking and full access to visit your site and enjoy the park grounds.
Do you have Seasonal Sites available?
We are currently sold-out of seasonal sites for the year. However, every year we do have sites become available for the entire season, such as our Gravel Back-In sites at a discounted full-season rate.
We announce their availability every October on our Facebook page, as well as to guests who have joined our Seasonal Site wait-list. You can sign up for the wait-list on our rates page.
Do you offer weekly or monthly RV camping rates in Ohio?
Yes, we offer long-term savings for our Gravel Back-in RV Sites. Our Weekly Rate is a flat $279 per week, and our Monthly Rate is a flat $779 per month. You do not need a promo code to book these extended stays online!
Are there discounts for military or first responders?
We proudly offer a 10% daily rate discount for First Responders (Promo Code: FR), Military & Veterans (Promo Code: MIL), and Educators (Promo Code: EDUCATION). There are no blackout dates! Valid ID is required at check-in.
Can I bring my own golf cart?
Yes! You are welcome to bring your own electric or gas golf cart. Unlike many other parks, we do not charge a daily fee for private carts, nor do we charge a fee for the trailer you bring it on. However, you must register your cart at the office upon arrival, provide proof of liability insurance, and ensure it is driven by a licensed adult.
Can I bring my own firewood?
To protect our beautiful trees from invasive pests like the Spotted Lanternfly, Asian Longhorned Beetle, and Spongy Moth, please do not bring outside firewood into the park.
The Ohio Department of Agriculture has strict regulations against moving firewood across state lines and county borders to prevent the spread of these destructive insects. Bringing uncertified firewood into Ohio from out of state is illegal.
You can read more about Ohio's official firewood laws and regulations here.
For your convenience, we sell bundled firewood at the Camp Store and can deliver it directly to your site. You can also purchase firewood in bulk from our local firewood reseller, who offers delivery to the park or allows guest pick-up.
What are the Check-in and Check-out times?
Check-in is at 2:00 PM for all cottages, RV sites, and campsites. Check-out for cottages is at 11:00 AM, and check-out for RV and campsites is at 12:00 PM (Noon).
Is early check-in or late check-out available?
We are happy to accommodate early arrivals or late departures whenever possible, though they are subject to site availability and an additional fee applies. Please contact the office on the day of your arrival or departure to check availability.
What are the Quiet Hours?
To ensure a relaxing experience for all our guests, Quiet Hours are observed from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. During this time, please keep music and voices to a whisper. Children must be at their campsite under adult supervision during quiet hours.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
We understand that plans can change. Generally, cancellations made 7 days or more before arrival are eligible for a refund (minus a standard cancellation fee). For our complete cancellation matrix, holiday rules, and rescheduling options, please view our Rates & Policies Page.
